The Institute of Door Dealer Education and Accreditation
(IDEA) introduced the Master Tech
program in 2013 to promote an elite class of technicians who
earn certifications in all of the following disciplines:
- Residential Installation
- Commercial Sectional Door Systems
- Commercial Rolling Door System
- Rolling Steel Fire Doors
Individuals who are issued all four of the certifications
are automatically granted Master Technician status, without any additional
fees. The status remains in effect as
long as the four individual certifications remain current.
